At Aviation Academy Scotland, safety is our top priority, and flights may occasionally be cancelled or rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions. However, because most students train full-time, cancellations typically do not cause significant delays in overall training progress.
1. Will My Training Be Delayed?
Full-time students have multiple flights scheduled each week, so a weather-related cancellation does not significantly impact progress.
If a flight is cancelled, you will likely have another session scheduled later in the day or the following day.
Our structured training approach ensures that students continue making progress, even if a specific flight cannot go ahead as planned.
2. How Are Weather Cancellations Managed?
We monitor weather conditions closely and make proactive decisions to ensure minimal disruption.
If a flight is cancelled due to weather, you will be notified via Private Radar and email.
Ground school or simulator training may be scheduled instead, ensuring that training time is still used productively.
3. Can I Reschedule My Cancelled Flight?
You will not need to manually reschedule your flight—our operations team will adjust your training plan accordingly.
Priority is given to ensuring all students meet their required training hours within their course schedule.
4. What Happens If Weather Disrupts Training for Several Days?
If extended poor weather conditions occur, we may adjust the training schedule to prioritise suitable flying conditions.
Students may be allocated additional flights when conditions improve to ensure they remain on track.
5. Do I Lose My Flight Time If It’s Cancelled?
No. If your flight is cancelled due to weather, you do not lose your training time, and the session will be rescheduled.
Your financial commitment remains secure under the Pay As You Train model—you only pay for flights that take place.
6. How Can I Stay Updated on Weather Conditions?
Regularly check Private Radar and your email for updates.
Speak with instructors or operations staff if you have any concerns about upcoming weather conditions.
