At Aviation Academy Scotland, we focus on providing real-world flight experience in modern aircraft, which is why our primary training is conducted in the Elixir aircraft. However, for advanced training stages, our partner Aeros Flight Training provides access to state-of-the-art simulators, ensuring a seamless transition to commercial aviation.
1. Simulators Used in Commercial Training
As part of the Fastrack Course, you will train in advanced simulators at Aeros Flight Training, including Alsim DA42 Simulators
2. Why We Prioritise Real Flight Training Over In-House Simulators
Many flight schools invest heavily in in-house simulators at the expense of maintaining a modern aircraft fleet. At Aviation Academy Scotland, we believe that:
Real flying experience is crucial in the early stages of training.
Glass cockpit training from day one provides a more effective learning experience than analogue-based simulators.
Partnering with Aeros Flight Training ensures access to the latest commercial training simulators when needed.
3. What Type of Simulator Training Will I Receive?
Once you progress to the commercial phases of training, simulator sessions will cover:
Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) β Learning how to fly complex aircraft under IFR conditions.
Commercial Pilot Licence β Practice key navigation and manoeuvres
4. Future Simulator Plans
While we do not currently have in-house simulators, we are always evaluating new technologies to enhance our training program. Any updates regarding simulator training at Aviation Academy Scotland will be communicated to students in advance.
